Admission Requirements
Ages • Our program is a primary program intended for children from 3 to 6 years old. We do enroll children as young as 2 years 9 months, depending on the individual child's readiness. Children younger than this need a different environment with a smaller group of children. Please feel free to call us if your child is currently too young for our program, as we maintain a waiting list and are happy to keep your information on file for the following school year.
Toilet Training Policy • We do not require that all children be able to use the bathroom independently, but we do limit the number of children in diapers to make sure that the staff can take care of their toileting needs as well as the needs of the other children.
Tour and Classroom Observation • The first step towards enrolling is to schedule a tour with one of our teachers. We begin scheduling tours in October. We recommend that you call us at (408) 377-9888 as early as possible, as we often fill up quickly for the following school year. After your tour, we ask that you schedule an observation during the morning work period so that you can see a classroom in action.
Orientation for New Children • Children new to the school attend an Orientation Program that lasts 9 or 10 days before the school year begins. During that period, we set up the classroom with a few interesting materials and work exclusively with the new children. This gives us time to get to know them, and it gives the children a chance to adjust gradually to the new routine.
