Admission Requirements
• Ages •
Our program is a primary program intended for children from 3 to 6 years old. We do enroll children as young as 2 years 9 months, depending on the individual child's readiness. Children younger than this need a different environment with a smaller group of children. Please feel free to email us if your child is currently too young for our program, as we maintain a waiting list and are happy to keep your information on file for the following school year.
• Toilet Training Policy •
We do not require that all children be able to use the bathroom independently, but we do limit the number of children in cloth trainers to make sure that the staff can take care of their toileting needs as well as the needs of the other children. All children need to be in the process of training by their first day of enrollment.
• Tour and Classroom Observation •
After thoroughly and carefully reading through our website, the next step toward potential enrollment is to email us and request the virtual tour. Once you have watched the virtual tour, reach out to us via email and schedule an in-person tour with one of our teachers. We begin scheduling tours in October for potential enrollment into the following school year. We recommend that you email us at [email protected] as early as possible, as we often fill up quickly for the next school year. After your tour, we ask that you schedule an observation during the morning work period so that you can see a classroom in action.
The tours are a requirement in the enrollment process and because they are conducted by the teachers, they occur in the late afternoons when the children have gone home, and the teachers are available. Tours are for adults only.
Observations are optional. We do feel they are essential to parents getting a feel for how the classrooms operate. We hope you take advantage of this wonderful sneak peek into a typical day in the environment during the morning work period. Observations are for adults only.
• Orientation for New Children •
Children new to the school attend an Orientation Program that lasts 9 or 10 days before the school year begins. During that period, we set up the classroom with a few interesting materials and work exclusively with the new children. This gives us time to get to know them, and it gives the children a chance to adjust gradually to the new routine.
• Mid-Year Enrollment •
We are a school who follows a 10-month school calendar, and for this reason we do not have rolling admissions. While we do accept mid-year enrollment, it is a case-by-case scenario. There are many variables that determine when we can enroll for a mid-year spot; available spaces, and time of year are just a few that we take into careful consideration. If you have further questions, please email us at [email protected].
